River Club
The River Club in Livingstone is an old-world colonial-style property that exudes style and elegance in every way. Open year-round, The River Club is a very homey property with beautiful views across the Zambezi River. It is within a stone’s throw of all the fun activities in the area – from adrenaline sports such as bungee jumping and white water rafting, to civilized sundowner cruises and trips to the Victoria Falls.
The River Club is comprised of ten well-appointed plantation-style rooms that vary in size from standard, family, honeymoon suites and a larger private house. There is something to accommodate any group that will undoubtedly provide a comfortable way to visit Livingstone. We think this is a great option for children and multi-generational families. You can relax at the pool with its tranquil views, enjoy a massage in the spa, or hit the gym or tennis courts. The hotel has croquet lawns and a library and snooker room which are great for a lazy or rainy day. The lodge also owns its own boat so you can enjoy stunning sunset cruises. The River Club has all the luxuries one could expect from home. It is suitable if you are nervous about security or have mobility concerns. This is also one of the few properties with air conditioning.
It’s owned by Peter Jones and when he is there, he’s quite a fun character. He has strong ties to Jewish heritage in Livingstone and is the person to go to if you’re interested in the topic or focused tours. They even have a kosher kitchen!
