Ol Malo Lodge & House
Old Malo is a treasure of a property in an absolutely stunning setting in Laikipia. Owned and run by the Francombes, an multi-generational Kenyan family, the property has a fascinating history and ties to the local Samburu community, making Ol Malo an incredibly memorable place so visit.
You can choose to stay at the Ol Malo Lodge, hosted by Ol Malo founders Rocky and Colin and best for couples and honeymooners, or at Ol Malo House, ideal for larger groups, families and active guests and hosted by Rocky and Colin’s son Andrew and his wife. Either way, you get the sense you are staying in a family home and enjoy all the interesting social and authentic benefits that go with it, in addition to private guiding from the family.
Ol Malo House and Lodge are beautifully situated with views out over the dramatic hills and valleys of the Laikipia plateau. Soak in the infinity pool, sip sundowners while admiring the vistas, enjoy delicious meals hosted by the family and meet interesting new people.
Ol Malo is the place for fun activities as you can fly camp, fish, horseback ride, camelback ride, game drive or game walk and visit the local samburu communities. You can even spend a day with flying up to Lake Turkana in their helicopter flown by Andrew himself!
Ol Malo is hard to beat and we love it for its stunning views, authentic interaction with the Samburu community and fun activities. It has something for everyone in a breathtaking setting. We highly recommend it.
