A luxury hotel, nearly one hundred years in the making, La Mamounia has managed to keep up with the times. If you are looking for a luxury hotel, La Mamounia is it – we love the history behind it. It is ideally located close to the city’s famed medina and feels quite unique. The suites are beautiful. The deluxe rooms have better views than the entry level rooms so it’s worth the extra splurge. There are also a few multi-bedroom riads, which are better for families. These riads are extremely private with their own entries.
La Mamounia has had an illustrious career playing host to famed writers, thinkers and world-leaders including Winston Churchill. There is a beautiful library on-site and even a book about the property. In 2009, the hotel established a literary prize to reward the art of Moroccan writing. Stroll through 17-acres of walled gardens, which are illuminated by night and contain pools, tennis courts, fountains, a 27,000 ft spa and four on-site restaurants.
