Gold Sand Camp
Gold Sand Camp, Situated southeast of the village of Merzouga, in the heart of the magnificent Saharan sand dunes, is Gold Sand Camp. The camp is very put together with nice beds and everything in great taste. The main area in front is covered with rugs so you don’t need to wear shoes. It’s a very welcoming environment.
The food is excellent. We especially love the vegetable couscous and beef tagine / stew with a big plate of fruit for dessert! After dinner, gather around the campfire and listen to traditional music. The Tuaregs singing is the highlight – a private concert by one of the most famous Berber Pigeons du Sable bands is hard to beat!
Wake up early to see the sunrise. This is important if you want great photos. We recommend climbing up to the top of a dune to watch the sunrise… It will be worth the lack of sleep! You can see more dunes by quad biking or other options include dune buggies, sandboarding and moto riding. Here you will experience Berber hospitality at its finest.
