Fasano São Paulo
As the owners of one of São Paulo’s finest restaurants, the Fasano family knows hospitality and presentation. In their first foray into the world of hotels, the five-star Fasano, they’ve taken their expertise and scaled it up to create one of the city’s luxurious properties. Developed around the family’s flagship Fasano Restaurant, whose contemporary Italian fare has kept its gleaming dining room full since 1982, the 60-room property sits in the heart of São Paulo’s happening Jardins district.
Designed by two top Brazilian architects, Fasano’s sauve interiors feel plucked straight from the 1970s. In low-lit lobbies and lounges of wood-paneled walls, plush leather chairs, parquet floors, and funky textile patterns, São Paulo’s upper crust comes to gab, making travelers feel like they’ve infiltrated the heart of Paulistana high society. After a quick shopping trip down nearby Rua Oscar Freire, where fashionable boutiques and trendy storefronts extend as far as the eye can see, you’ll fit right in.
Since food and Fasano go together, you can indulge in world-class Italian dining without even stepping foot outside. Nonno Ruggero takes after easy-going Italian trattorias with its street-view dining terrace and casual fare, while jazz greats regularly pop into the Baretto Bar for intimate performances over Negronis. But, as the heart and soul of the whole operation, a meal at the Fasano Restaurant is a must. Originally hailing from Milan, the Fasano family celebrates their Italian heritage here through zhuzhed-up classic dishes like pasta and carpaccio.
When not wining-and-dining and shopping til you drop, head to the 21st-floor spa for its million-dollar view of the city next to the heated pool or revitalize yourself for more indulgence at the spa.
