Busanga Bush Camp

Busanga is a basic camp under the Wilderness Safari’s banner, located in northern Kafue National Park’s Busanga Concession. We are very excited about Wilderness’ presence here. This is an area which suffered from a lot of poaching, and since Busanga’s existence, the wildlife is already on its way back and making it a great area for lion sightings.

Built under canvas, this pretty camp has four cozy rooms with en-suite bathrooms and decks for basking in the remote landscape and enjoying the light over the plains. Busanga’s central areas provide a relaxing atmosphere where visitors can watch for lechwe and puku as well as the resident lion pride which is often seen from the camp.

Activities include day and night game drives and walks as well as a trip to the hippo pool, a real highlight.

Perfectly set on a palm island, the camp is open between June and October. The camp is accessed via helicopter from the Busanga Airstrip.

For a relatively small surcharge, we suggest you upgrade to Shumba Camp as the service and accommodation are of a higher standard. Busanga Bush Camp has adequate service and guiding, but is quite basic with minimal luxuries.
