Andersson’s Camp

Andersson’s Camp is located on an old farmstead nestled amongst the mopane scrub of the Ongava Game Reserve (30,000 ha), sharing its border with Etosha National Park. Just 4.5 km from Etosha’s Andersson Gate, it is in an ideal location to explore the National Park, and to your advantage, bush walks and night game drives are provided within the Game Reserve itself. The camp offers full-day self-drives and guided game drives in Etosha, as well as rhino tracking where you can see both black and white rhino.

This sustainable eco-retreat has 20 en-suite tents and can easily accommodate families and triple rooms. We think this is a great option for families as there is no age limit, there is a swimming pool, and there is an electric fence around the property which means you can walk freely around the grounds without an escort. The tents are raised on decks to give a spectacular view of the waterhole and surrounding plains below, allowing for game-viewing right on your doorstep. You can also choose to view the resident game from the hide, putting you right amidst the action.

Even for its low price, we find this camp to be a bit less polished and too casual relative to the other safari properties we use. But with that said, it does cater well to families or individual travelers who aren’t seeking an overly refined experience.
